Saves the current viewport as a.sld slide file on disk (short for Make SLIDE). VSlide displays an SLD-format slide file in AutoCAD. RELATED FILES. Oct 01, 2010 SLD stands for SLiDe. SLD files contain a captured image of what is viewed within AutoCAD, often used as static presentation material when reviewing product design. SLD files can also be packaged as SLB files if multiple slide images are needed. SLD and SLB files can be opened with the Vslide utility, included as part of the AutoCAD software suite.

However, it is not perfect and sometimes can show results which are not really usable because of how certain programs work with files and the possible conversion is thus actually not possible at all.
Now that i have been able to figure out how to create menus in the ribbon and all the panels and whatnot i would like to be able to place an image with each panel so people will know what symbols they are selecting.Previous versions of autocad used aroudn my office utilize the slides feature to give a preview of the symbols they would like to select. Now that i am using 2011, i am trying to do a similar thing with putting a picture on the ribbon panel button associated with each symbol. But from what i can tell, only a.bmp image can be used for this and it has to be sized at no larger than 32x32 pixels. So my question is, is there a way to convert the.sld files to a.bmp sized to 32x32pixels? Or is there a way i can use the.sld file as the icon for the specific button?? Yes you are required to use.bmp with the sizes you mentioned.
I'm more curious if there is a way to convert an older.sld (slide) file to a.bmp?? I ask this because where i work we have hundreds of pre made symbols we use all the time to make our drawings. And in our current menu system it gives us a pop up menu that has a listing of the symbols in that group along with a small preview of the symbol (which is from the.sld file) So i would like to use those same files but somehow convert them to.bmp.
